“How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me the secret of your great strength.” With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was tired to death. –Judges 16:15-16
There are some strong words in this scripture that we can truly learn from. Words like the ones in the last line. With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was tired to death. I felt the exhaust in just reading those words! Men often say that we are naggers. Hmmmmm, something to think about! Ponder that thought and the questions below. Feel free to answer one are all of the questions. Your comments are valued and appreciated.
1. Why was Delilah so willing to betray Samson? Why do you think Samson played along, giving her false answers?
2. How exactly do you think Delilah wore Samson down so that he told her the truth about his strength?
3. What does such nagging do to a relationship? If you ever nagged someone to do something, how did you feel when you finally got what you wanted?
4. Why do you think the story of Delilah is important? What can she teach us? Who finally wins in this story?

Delilah was willing to betray Samson because she was promised a large sum of money. It is anyone’s guess why Samson continued to play along with Delilah by giving her false answers to the source of his strength. You would think that he would have suspected that she was up to something at least after his second encounter with her. Maybe he was just so into her due to the fact that this man of physical strength had a weakness for women.
Delilah wore Samson down with her constant nagging. Nagging can be very detrimental to any relationship, even to the point of driving someone away. No one wants to be nagged all the time.
I think that this story is important because it shows that even today things still have not changed. There are numerous women and men today who seek wealth and other material means with the wrong motives. In Galatians 6:7 the Bible tells us that a man reaps what he sows and that, my sisters determines who wins in the end.
