You would think that any woman would be satisfied with a husband like Potiphar, a prosperous, influential man; however, we learn in the story of Potiphar’s wife that she wanted more. She wanted Joseph and was willing to go to great lengths to try and get him.
Below are some questions to ponder. Feel free to answer one or all of the questions. Please note that additional comments are also welcomed.
1. What character trait was Potiphar's wife lacking? Why do you think she was attracted to Joseph, beyond the fact that he was "well-built and handsome"?
2. Where do you suppose Joseph got his knowledge of right and wrong and his ability to reject sin (Genesis 39:9)? What do you think Joseph's life might have been like if he had given in to Potiphar's wife?
3. why do you think Joseph avoided contact with Potiphar's wife (Genesis 39:10)? Contrast how these two characters responded to temptation.

My Goodness!!! Seeing that she is only known as Potipher's wife says enough about her character. She was very immoral and wanted what she couldn't have. She didn't appreciate what she already had which was a good man. It cleary states that Potiphar was a prosperous, influential man, In my opinion what woman in her right mind wouldn't want that for a husband. Why would you seek more? Potiphar's wife lacked diligence in her duties. She failed to be about religious ordinances. She lacked devotions. She neglected her God given duties as wife and marriage partner. Even if she worshipped some godless idol, the chances are that there may have been some form of morals associated with even those gods. Not so with her. She was entirely lax in moral observances. I wonder if we still have the "Potiphar's Wife" type women today in the church...Hmmm
